چکیده

Knowledge is recognized as a crucial resource in today’s Knowledge Intensive Organizations. Creating effective Knowledge Management systems is one of the key success factors in Process Improvement initiatives like the CMMI, SPICE etc. This contribution aims to provide a starting point for discussion on how to design a Knowledge Management System to support System Engineering activities. After motivating the problem domain, we introduce a conceptual model supporting continuous learning and reuse of all kinds of experiences from the System Engineering domain and we present the underlying methodology.

A Three-tier Knowledge Management Scheme for C2 Software Engineering Support and Innovation

To ensure smooth and successful transition of software innovations to C2 systems, it is critical to maintain proper levels of knowledge about the system configuration, the operational environment, and the technology in both existing and new systems. We present a three-tier knowledge management scheme through a systematic planning of actions spanning the software transition process from conceptu...

How Can a Global Social Support System Hope to Achieve Fairer Competiveness?; Comment on “A Global Social Support System: What the International Community Could Learn From the United States’ National Basketball Association”

Ooms et al sets out some good general principles for a global social support system to improve fairer global competitiveness as a result of redistribution. This commentary sets out to summarize some of the conditions that would need to be satisfied for it to level up gradients in inequality through such a social support system, using the National Basketball Association (NBA) example as a point ...

How bio-dynamics inform design process innovation harnessing principles from complex adaptive systems

The research community has focused on technical analyses for a range of distributed network problems, placing less emphasis on the challenge at which Nature excels — design synthesis. Whereas biomimetics copies Nature’s evolutionary “products,” we can also learn from Nature’s “processes” about how evolution produces exquisitely adapted novelty that traditional engineering design would fail to p...

A Model-Driven Decision Support System for Software Cost Estimation (Case Study: Projects in NASA60 Dataset)

Estimating the costs of software development is one of the most important activities in software project management. Inaccuracies in such estimates may cause irreparable loss. A low estimate of the cost of projects will result in failure on delivery on time and indicates the inefficiency of the software development team. On the other hand, high estimates of resources and costs for a project wil...
